Nelson have launched an appeal for (May) 2009 to help improve the floodlighting facilities at Victoria Park.

Nelson Football Club's "£10K Floodlight Appeal" is now up and running, and, as the title suggests, the aim is to build up a fund to allow the Club to bring address the bulb and maintenance issues with the floodlights at Victoria Park - we're sure you've noticed the odd bulb or eight not working.

We are looking for individuals and companies alike to generously offer to sponsor one or more of our 'lights' below, at a cost of £25 apiece. For each light taken, the sponsors chosen name will appear on the list below, and on a plaque to be displayed in the clubhouse once the campaign is over.

Should there be any money left over once work on the floodlights is completed, then it will be used towards other vital maintenance work required at Victoria Park, including work on the pitch drainage, and improvements to the clubhouse and players changing facilities.

Ways to donate:

Currently, payments can be made by sending a cheque - made payable to "Nelson Football Club" - for the amount you wish to donate (in £25 multiples), to:

Please also include your name and address, plus details of the name or names you would like to appear on the lights below, which will be added in on receipt of your cheque. We will write back confirming and thanking you for your donation.

Systems will also soon be in place to allow donations to the appeal to be made online via Paypal, and details on that will appear here later on in January.
