Nelson's junior team enjoyed a celebratory night at Ighten Leigh Social Club last Friday evening.

Thanks to the frankly embarrassing and shameful decision of the Warburton Youth League not to present the lads with trophies for their superb league and cup double, the presentation evening had to be delayed until last Friday.

Manager Mark Whitaker's company Travis Perkins kindly stepped in to purchase and provide a couple of fantastic trophies to reward the lads for their efforts, and all convened for an evening to celebrate their achievements at Ighten Leigh Social Club last Friday night.

Now under 15's of course, the lads will remain in the Accrington & District Football League for the coming season, but swap the Warburtons League for a crack at the Bolton & District Football League.

All at Nelson congratulate the juniors on their magnificent success last season, and wish them all the best in their efforts to continue that into 2009-10.
