Nelson Reserves went nap against Atherton LR at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon. Bill Stell reports:

The Reserves got back to winning ways with this emphatic defeat of Atherton LR.

Chris Gaskill was the hat-trick hero in this one sided match, his first two put the locals 2-0 up at half time and he completed his treble shortly after the break.

A well worked goal from Pete Crossley and thunderous shot from Andy Bennett completed the rout.

This was a good all round team performance in which Ian Lang and Chris Halstead where outstanding.

Manager Mick Molloy was pleased with the performance and hopes the result will give the team confidence to start climbing the league.
