Bill Stell's match report on Saturday's high scoring reserve encounter at home to Flixton.

Nelson Reserves lost their first game of the season on Saturday to High Flying Flixton Reserves.

The first half was fairly even but two errors gifted the visitors a 2-0 lead after in the first 30 mins. The locals pulled one back before half time with a well taken 25 yrd shot from Chris Gaskill.

The second half saw Nelson take control of the game and equalised through John Harding. The comeback seemed complete when Joe Holden finished off a good move to give the home side the lead.

But with 5 mins left Flixton scored an equaliser and completed an unlikely win with an injury time goal.

Although not pleased with the result, manager Mick Molloy was with the battling performance by the reserves to come back from 2-0 down to take a lead into the last 5 minutes.
