Nelson Reserves are finally up and running with this well deserved point at Oldham Town.

In an evenly matched first 45 the blues found themselves unlucky to be trailing to a 45th minute goal due to a freak bobble in the blues box which gifted the home sides centre forward a simple tap in.

But after the interval Nelson found the right gears to push on for the equalizer.  On 47 minutes good work down the right lead to Jamie Stoddard slotting home the leveller, and they didn't have to wait long before they got their noses in front.

On 54 minutes a goal mouth scramble lead to debutant Mick Halls effort canonning off the Oldhams crossbar which allowed another debutant Kieron Riley to put away the rebound.

More chances came and went, but it was Oldham who grabbed the 4th goal of the game with a cracking finish from Ricardo Brandad.

Both sides pushed hard to get a winner but time ran out.

Following last weeks disappointing result at home to Glossop the Manager was looking for a response and he got it. Having signed 5 players during the week, Jon Westall handed 3 of the new signings their debuts and they all did very well.
