The reserves lost out again in a high-scoring home thriller against Maine Road. Bill Stell reports.

It was de’ja vu for Nelson Reserves this week. As last week they went behind to an early goal, then pulled a goal back before half time through a sweetly struck shot from John Bradley.

In the early part of the second half Nelson put on the pressure and took the lead when substitute Chris Gaskill finished off a good move at the far post.

But again like last week the locals could not keep the lead and two disputed goals gave the visitors the win.

Manager Mick Molloy was again disappointed with the result but thought the battling performance was encouraging and results will start to improve.
