The Reserves thumped sorry Cheadle for eight in an entertaining game at Victoria Park.

In what seems a one sided game it was actually Cheadle that started the brighter, playing some neat football, but failed to have any end product.

The Blues then started working through the gears, and on 20 mins Glenn Ainsworth opened the scoring, cutting inside to fire home.

Two more goals came before half time, courtesy of a Mick Hall brace on 36 and 42 minutes.

After the break Danny Oldfield opened his account on 52 minutes to make it 4-0.

With the game seemingly won, Nelson made three changes and against a tiring Cheadle side the goals came thick and fast.

On 75 minutes, the injured Sean Thompson joined the party scoring a rasping shot which gave the visiting keeper no chance.

Then, on 80 minutes Thompson scored his second to make it 6-0.

Six minutes later man of the match Ainsworth got his second and Oldfield completed his brace on 90 minutes to make it 8-0 and three valuable points.
