The Reserves made it three wins out of three with this hard fought win against a spirited Blackpool side.
Throughout the game, Nelson played on the front foot, but they were met by a stubborn Blackpool keeper who saved his team on numerous occasions. In front of a healthy home support the deadlock was finally broken when Alex Miller fired home from the edge of the box to take the Blues in at half time a goal to the good.
The second half carried on where the first half had left off, and constant Blues pressure saw much of the game camped in the Blackpool half.
Shouts for a penalty on 62 minutes were turned down when Alex Miller was lucky to escape with his life after seemingly being felled by the oncoming keeper.
More chances came and went for the Blues in what was proving to be a frustrating period in front of goal.
But on 80 minutes Nelson made the points save when a deep ball in from the right was met by Alex Millers head, to make it 2-0.
And Danny Oldfield made it three soon after when Blackpool's failure to deal with a cross from the right allowed him to nestle his header in the back of the net.
