Nelson reserves started their League campaign with a 2-1 win over Ashton Town Res.
A cross/shot from Chris Livesey eluded the visitors goalkeeper in the 28th Minute to give the home side the lead at half time. Paul Parker doubled their lead midway through the second half.
A late penalty by the visitors gave the locals a scare, but they held out to record the win.
