Paul Lynch has resigned as manager of derby rivals Colne to take charge at Rossendale United.

United sacked Jim McBride from the Dark Lane hot seat last week, and Lynch, as expected, has stepped into the role after resigning from his Holt House post last week.

While Lynch himself is currently out injured, he has taken another member of the Colne staff, Steve Bird, with him as assistant.

Hopefully the shock departure will result in a few weeks of transitional woe for the Reds, as we attempt to catch up and overhaul the Second Division leaders, who had made a great start to the season under Lynch.
