Blues entertain Great Harwood Town in the first round tomorrow night hoping to put their recent poor form behind them.
The Division Two Trophy apart, it's the Blues' final stab at decent cup glory this season after being knocked out at the first attempt in the F.A. Cup, F.A. Vase and North West Counties League Challenge Cup.Harwood are struggling for form in the First Division this season following their backdoor promotion last term, and are currently propping up the rest having mustered a solitary win from sixteen league games so far.
So it'll be a local derby match between two out-of-sorts sides, and one of them will be hoping it will result in a win which could be the springboard for a decent run.
Nelson certainly have every chance of winning the game, which could see a tie against a Conference outfit as it did last season, and if Harwood remain anything like the side from last season then it really is a close one to call.
The match will kick off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm.
