Nelson have announced that non-league veteran Denis Underwood will succeed John Bailey as Blues' Manager.

Underwood has been ploughing his trade in the non-league game for a quarter of a century, and enjoyed his most successful spell while in charge of First Division Clitheroe during the mid-nineties, culminating in an unforgettable trip to Wembley to take part in the F.A. Vase Final.

Most recently he had a spell in charge of a struggling Great Harwood side, but now he is looking forward to the task of stirring the decent squad he has inherited back up into the promotion frame.

Hopefully all his years of experience can help us achieve great things down at Victoria Park, and we would all like to wish him the very best in his new job.
