Forget the Turf, get down to Victoria Park to watch a local team that can win games entertain Bishop Auckland in the F.A. Cup.

Tuesday night's replay win over Norton & Stockton Ancients has set up tomorrow's game against seasoned F.A. Cup campaigners Bishop Auckland.

Our opponents can count Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town among their victims in this competition, although both of those were nearly 50 years ago, when the club enjoyed an incredible dominance of the Northern League.

In recent years it has been a struggle for the Bishops, and theoretically there hasn't been a much better time at which we could have faced them.

Against all the odds the North East side finished third in the Unibond Premier Division two years ago. only the second time they managed a top six finish in the last 12 years.

Last season they finished a lowly 21st, just above the relegation places, but then found out they were to be relegated anyway due to the ground they now share with Shildon not being up to Premier Division standard. The club had sold their own Kingsway ground during the course of that season.

In Unibond Division One this season, the Bishops have collected just one win and four points from their opening four league games, and lie in a lowly 15th place. In neither those games, nor the five pre-season friendlies, have they managed to score more than one goal.

So the Blues, while without two of their first choice players Stuart Mulligan and Glen Little, should be in confident mood tomorrow after the promising start they have made to the season.

So leave the haphazard Clarets behind and make your way down on Saturday to experience the magic of the F.A. Cup as Nelson take on Unibond League Bishop Auckland, with the kick-off at 3pm.
