We take a look at the three new sides - Cammel Laird, New Mills and Silsden - joining the Second Division of the North West Counties for 2004/5.
CAMMEL LAIRDDetails coming soon
NEW MILLS
Church Lane, New Mills,
New Mills lies a few miles south east of Stockport, and is around 47 miles and an hour away from Nelson. They return for a second stint in the North West Counties League - they played in the first season in 1982/3 - after a record 61 seasons in the Manchester League.
They played in the Premier Division of the Manchester League last season, and only narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 14th of the 16 teams. The Club are certainly hoping to make an impact as they move into the pyramid, and "The Millers" have spent £50,000 on upgrading their ground and facilities. One feels however that they may take a season or two to find their feet at this level before they begin to make a serious impact.

SILSDEN FC
Cougar Park, Keighley
The Yorkshire side will join the North West Counties boasting probably the bext stadium in the entire league - although it is actually the 7,800 capacity home of Keighley Cougars Rugby Club.
Having won the West Riding Amateur League title for the last two seasons - including winning the league and cup double in 2002/3 and only losing out in the cup final last season - they appear to be a club on the up, and are likely to mount a serious assault for the Second Division title from August.
