www.nelsonfc.co.uk begins a new feature chronicling the successful Blues 1922/3 championship winning season in the Third Division of the Football League.
Matches 2-4: After the emphatic defeat at Bradford, could Nelson quickly turn it around with three home matches in succession?
Matches 5-7: Our story of the 1922/23 Championship winning season continues with matches against two other North West sides no longer in the Football League.
Matches 8-11: The 1922/23 Championship season continued with October double headers against both Ashington and Tranmere Rovers.
Matches 12-15: Part five of our look back at the 1922/23 season takes in a double header with Barrow, Rochdale at home, and a trip to Darlington.
Matches 16-18: It's Christmas week, with home matches against north-eastern opposition Darlington and Hartlepool sandwiching a Christmas Day trip to Halifax.
Matches 19-21: Three consecutive away days as tough trips to Hartlepool, Rochdale and Lincoln gave the Blues three very contrasting results.
Matches 22-24: Nelson faced the return with Lincoln City and back-to-back matches against North Eastern strugglers Durham City.
Matches 25-28: After collecting the maximum four points against the bottom side, Nelson faced two consecutive double headers against fellow title contenders.
Matches 29-32: Nelson were hoping to consolidate their lead with two games against Crewe, then Grimsby and Wrexham.
Matches 33-35: A tough trip on the east coast at Grimsby was to be followed by a derby double against Accrington Stanley.
Match 36: Much of the town stopped as Nelson prepared to to take on Wrexham in a potentially historic match at Seedhill.
