Nelson lies four miles north of Burnley, and the football team ply their trade in the First Division of the North West Counties League, the ninth level of the football pyramid.
The club enjoyed a ten-year spell in the Football League from 1921, and their greatest achievement came when winning the Third Division North title in 1923.
